Job Description:
Manage security and networking architecture.
Manage the status of all assigned trouble tickets and firewall request forms to ensure issues are resolved in a timely manner.
Standard troubleshooting of firewalls
Monitoring and status reports for Firewalls. These include active connections, logging activity, disk space, suspicious log activity, and cluster load balance.
Modification of firewall configurations and rule bases as requested on firewall request forms.
Identify and prevent viruses and other malicious codes from entering the network. Hardware includes BlueCoat, Fortimail.
Ensure the policies and procedures for network security are implemented and enforced.
Review and troubleshoot potential problems/threats related to infrastructure on all connections.
Insure all traffic originating from within complies with company policies
Network Engineer
Design, develop, test, and implement complex networking solutions in accordance with specified requirements
Expert on routing protocols such as EIGRP, BGP
Expert on Spanning Tree Protocol
Maintain complex LAN and WAN environment
Analyze and troubleshoot complex network problems
Provide consultation, support and guidance to other organizations within the company.
Provide leadership and work guidance to network administrators.
Hardware
Mostly Cisco Products from 851 all the way to 7600 series.
Firewall Platform - PIX and ASA.
